Particularly, the study examined factors such as: parents’ academic level, occupation, and their socio-economic level. The sample size was 60 pupils selected based on simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS. The findings revealed that educated parents give more support for the academic achievement of pupils. That some occupations do not allow parents time to interact with their children. Parents with good income do not only support their children but also support school development programs. The study concluded that parental involvement was vital for the academic success of pupils. It is recommended that guidance sessions be organized for parents on the importance of their involvement in the education of their children.
Ruhindi Stephenson, Kanyesigye Stella Teddy, Nzarirwehi Jackson Copyright (c) 2024 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://mail.innovareacademics.in/journals/index.php/ijoe/article/view/52725 Fri, 01 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0530 Investigating Educators’ Perspectives on Classroom Observation and the Impact of Feedback on Professional Development https://mail.innovareacademics.in/journals/index.php/ijoe/article/view/52896
The study’s aim was to investigate educators’ perspectives on classroom observation and the impact of feedback on professional development. Examines the role of classroom observations (COs) in evaluating teacher performance and supporting professional development (PD). Technically, COs have become a standardized element in education, enhancing teaching skills and providing a consistent framework for teacher assessment and professional development. The objective of this research is to explore the interpretation of COs as perceived by both observers and observees. It also examines their opinion on the COs process and the feedback it generates. Through questionnaires and follow-up interviews with educators from diverse backgrounds, the study seeks to understand how feedback from CO is perceived, its effectiveness in improving teaching practices, and its contribution to PD. The research addresses three main questions: how COs are structured, what strategies can improve the COs process, and the impact of feedback on teaching and professional growth. The findings offer valuable insights into optimizing COs as a tool for teacher evaluation and development.
Raees Unissa, Nawal Abuzwaid Alhasan Copyright (c) 2024 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://mail.innovareacademics.in/journals/index.php/ijoe/article/view/52896 Fri, 01 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0530 Teachers’ Perception of Corrupt Practices at Teaching Service Commission in Nigeria https://mail.innovareacademics.in/journals/index.php/ijoe/article/view/52546
Corruption is a global problem that has affected education in Africa and Nigeria, affecting the system’s efficiency. Two research questions guided this study. This study explored teachers’ perception of corrupt practices in the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) in Nigeria with particular reference to Ekiti state. A descriptive research design and a quantitative approach were adopted. Random sampling technique was used in this study and 180 participants were selected for this study. The study participants were given a questionnaire known as the Perceived Corrupt Practices Questionnaire (PCPQ) to obtain the views of the participants. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics and percentages. The findings revealed many forms of corruption in the Ekiti State Teachers Service of Nigeria, including collecting official documents, bribery for admission to public schools and access preferences. Teachers also believe that corruption in the Board of Education is responsible for destroying social welfare and poor educational achievement in Nigeria. It was concluded that corruption reduces the resources available to schools, limits access to education, and reduces the quality of services in the state.
(A Study on the Sense of Responsibility and Awareness Towards Innovation among Teachers in Teacher Education Colleges in Bhopal District) https://mail.innovareacademics.in/journals/index.php/ijoe/article/view/52799

The purpose of the present study was to examine the sense of responsibility and awareness toward innovation among teachers working in teacher education colleges operated by the National Council for Teacher Education in the Bhopal district in the year 2024. For this, four objectives were formulated, and to fulfill those objectives, the researcher selected 150 respondents through the probable sampling method. Among them, 100 women and 50 men were chosen as respondents, and a questionnaire of 20 questions was developed for data collection. The study found that teachers who were more aware of their responsibilities were more inclined to adopt innovations in their teaching. The research also revealed that limited resources are a hindrance to fully embracing innovations, but teachers recognized the need to incorporate digital technology and active teaching methods in their instruction. The conclusions indicate that responsibility and innovation among teachers are deeply interconnected, and they have a significant impact on the quality of teaching and student engagement.
Pushp Lata Sahu Copyright (c) 2024 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://mail.innovareacademics.in/journals/index.php/ijoe/article/view/52799 Fri, 01 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0530
